Watch your mailbox, and if your voting letter doesn’t arrive, call the Township!
I received my letter at the post office this week, so I’m all set. But did you get yours? This is the first municipal election in which Elections Ontario, not MPAC, supplies the voters’ list. The switch hasn’t been smooth. Municipalities across the province have found problems, including eligible property owners missing from the list and people listed at addresses they left long ago.
Township Voting Letters are arriving now, and will continue until about October 15. Your letter confirms that you’re on the list and contains the PIN you’ll need to vote.
Voting opens Monday, October 19. If your letter hasn’t arrived by Thursday, October 15, don’t wait.
Call the Township Clerk: 613-259-2398 ext. 231
Email: lhclerk@lanarkhighlands.ca
The clerk can confirm your status and add you if you’re eligible. There will also be voter help centres during election week if you’d rather deal with the township in person.
Please also check the letter you do receive. If it lists the wrong property or an address you no longer have any connection to, let the clerk know that as well.
Every eligible voter in Ward 4 should have a say in our next municipal leadership. Make sure you’re one of them.
